French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire has reportedly confirmed plans to begin collecting the French digital services tax (DST) in December 2020. Earlier in the year, France agreed to suspend the collection of the 3% French DST until December 2020. Later, it was announced that regardless of the outcome of OECD discussions, digital services would be taxed in France, either under an internationally agreed to approach or under the French DST. With the proposed deadline for the international agreement now pushed back to mid-2021, France intends to move forward with its DST and begin collections for 2020 in December as planned.
