ARTICLE 29
Termination
This Agreement shall remain in force until it is terminated by a Contracting State. Either Contracting State may terminate the Agreement, through diplomatic channels, by giving notice of termination at least six months before the end of any calendar year following the period of five years from the date on which the Agreement enters into force.
In such event, the Agreement shall cease to have effect:
- (a) in respect of taxes withheld at source:
- (i) in the Islamic Republic of Iran, to amounts derived on or after 1st Farvardin Solar Hijra, corresponding to 21st March, in the calendar year next following the year in which such notice is given;
- (ii) in Morocco, to amounts paid or credited, on or after the 1st day of January, corresponding to 11th Day Solar Hijra, in the calendar year next following the year in which such notice is given;
- (b) in respect of other taxes of income:
- (i) in the Islamic Republic of Iran, to such taxes chargeable for any taxable period beginning on or after 1st Farvardin Solar Hijra, corresponding to 21st March, in the calendar year next following the year in which such notice is given;
- (ii) in Morocco, for any taxable year or period beginning on or after the 1st day of January, corresponding to 11th Day Solar Hijra, in the calendar year next following the year in which such notice is given.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the undersigned duly authorised thereto by their respective Governments, have signed this Agreement.
DONE in duplicate at Tehran on ……….. Solar Hijra corresponding to this 25th day of February 2008 in the Persian, Arabic, French and English languages, all texts being equally authentic. In case of divergence of interpretation, the English text shall prevail.
