Accounting income is based on financial statements prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting practice, which is in line with International Accounting (IAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Taxable income is based on the financial statements which is thereafter adjusted for non-tax deductions, exemptions, etc. to arrive at the taxable income of the taxpayer for the relevant year.
