Zambia's Minister of Finance has reportedly announced that the replacement of VAT with a new non-refundable sales tax has been delayed with a planned implementation date of 1 July 2019. The replacement of VAT was announced as part of the Budget for 2019, with the new sales tax to be implemented on 1 April 2019. However, the preparation of the required legislation has taken longer than anticipated and is now expected to be finalized and approved in parliament by June.
