The new income tax treaty between Norway and Australia, signed on 8 August 2006 is expected to enter into force during 2007, provided that each of the contracting states has notified each other through diplomatic channels of the completion of their domestic requirements for the entry into force of the treaty. The treaty will enter into force on the date of the last of these notifications. If the treaty enters into force in 2007, it will become effective in 2008. Please note that the treaty has not been ratified by Norway and that it will not enter into force on 1 January 2007 and become effective on 1 January 2008..
