Taiwan's Ministry of Finance has issued a notice on the extension of the filing return deadline for alien individuals to 30 June 2021.

Filing Period of 2020 Alien Individual Income Tax Return will be Extended to June 30th, 2021 and Tax filing service counter will be closed till June 14th, 2021

Response to the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) raised the COVID-19 alert for entire nation and the epidemic situation grows in severity, the filing period of 2020 alien individual income tax return will be extended to June 30th, 2021 and tax filing service counter (including walking-in filing, e-filing help and supporting documents submission) will be closed continuously till June 14th, 2021.

The National Taxation Bureau of Kaohsiung, Ministry of Finance stated that if foreign taxpayers file their income tax return via e-Filing system, the deadline of any document required for filing will be extended to July 12th, 2021. Taxpayers shall submit it in person or send it by post to the tax authority with jurisdiction over the location of the address given on their Alien Resident Certificate.
