On 28 February 2023, the Swiss Council of States (upper house of parliament) approved the ratification of the pending protocol to the 2010 income and capital tax treaty with Tajikistan. The protocol, signed 4 July 2022, is the first to amend the treaty. It will enter into force once the ratification instruments are exchanged and will apply from 1 January of the year following its entry into force.
