The Swedish parliament has announced its approval of the new income and capital tax treaty with Slovenia on 18 November 2021. The treaty, signed 12 May 2021, will enter into force 30 days after the ratification instruments are exchanged and will generally apply from 1 January of the year following its entry into force. Once in force and effective, the treaty will replace the 1980 tax treaty between Sweden and the former Yugoslavia as it applies with respect to Slovenia and Sweden.
