The Lithuanian parliament (Seimas) is considering draft law XIVP-1884, which increases the VAT registration exemption threshold for persons purchasing goods from other EU Member States. In particular, VAT registration would not be required where the value (excluding VAT paid or payable in the Member State from which the goods were delivered) of all goods purchased by the person from other Member States (except for new vehicles or excise goods) did not exceed EUR 30,000 (up from 14,000) in the previous calendar year and this threshold is not expected to be exceeded in the current calendar year. Subject to approval, the increased threshold would apply from 1 January 2023.
