On 3 June 2021, Egypt published Presidential Decision No. 558 in the Official Gazette, which provides for the ratification of the new income tax treaty with the United Arab Emirates. The treaty, signed 14 November 2019, will enter into force once the ratification instruments are exchanged and will apply from 1 January of the year following its entry into force. Once in force and effective, the new treaty will replace the 1994 tax treaty between the two countries.
