The Egyptian Tax Authority has published a fact sheet regarding the application of the Multilateral Convention to Implement Tax Treaty Related Measures to Prevent Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (MLI) to Egypt's covered agreements (tax treaties). The MLI entered into force for Egypt on 1 January 2021.

According to the fact sheet, which is subject to change, 39 agreements could be modified by the MLI once the MLI takes effect for all agreements covered. As of 1 March 2021, the fact sheet includes that the MLI is in force for 26 covered agreements, with effective dates of the MLI provided for taxes withheld at source and all other taxes under the agreements.
