Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has given a directive to increase the annual income tax exemption limit from EGP 24,000 to EGP 36,000 in line with the state's efforts to mitigate the impact of the global economic repercussions on Egyptian citizens. The directive was given during a meeting held on 19 March with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly and Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait to review the draft budget for the next fiscal year 2023-2024.
