Bulgaria's National Assembly has issued a release announcing that it has approved amendments to the VAT Law to increase the registration threshold from BGN 50,000 in annual taxable turnover to BGN 100,000. As previously reported, the increase had been announced as part of an anti-crisis package but was not included in the main legislation for that package. According to the release, the increase will enter into force on the first day of the month following the entry into force of the decision of the Council of the European Union authorizing Bulgaria to apply the increased threshold, but not before 1 January 2023.
