According to a release from the Jordan News Agency, the Brazilian Ambassador to Jordan, Roy Amaral, has called for re-launching negotiations for an income tax treaty. The call for negotiations was made during an event awarding the Chairman of the Jordanian Brazilian Business Association, Jamal Fariz, the "Rio Branco" Medal by Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro for his efforts in strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation between Brazil and Jordan. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
