The Seychelles Revenue Commission has announced a tax amnesty program that runs from July to December 2021. The program is being provided as part of efforts to increase revenue collection, especially in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Under the program, the payment in full of outstanding taxes and the filing of outstanding returns by the following dates will result in a waiver of interest and penalties:
The amnesty program applies to outstanding tax debts, under-declared taxable income/assessable income, and unfurnished business tax returns, presumptive tax returns, and value added tax returns. For business tax arrears, the amnesty is available for debts owed for the 2019 tax year and prior years, while for VAT and other taxes, the amnesty is available for debts owed for the 2020 tax year and prior years.
