The Dominican Republic's Directorate General of Internal Revenue (DGII) has issued Notice 45-20 of 9 April 2020 on relief facilities for tax obligations for the month of April 2020 due to COVID-19. This includes the following deadline extensions:
The notice also provides for agreements for payment in three consecutive monthly installments with respect to the tax on the transfer of industrialized goods and services (ITBIS) and the selective consumption tax (ISC) for alcohol and tobacco products for the March 2020 period. The agreement will be automatically generated at the time of filing the respective returns, which remain due 20 April. No interest will be charged.
The DGII has also issued Notice 47-20 of 14 April 2020 on a suspension of the payment of ITBIS on the transfer of specified medical supplies and equipment, including hydrogen peroxide, surgical and medical gloves, medical masks, and others. The exemption applies for both imported and locally produced products from 14 April until the end of the state of emergency.
